This inverter-driven heat pump system
provides heating in the winter, and
cooling in the summer, by connecting
a maximum of 16 various indoor units
with a large capacity outdoor unit.
The air-conditioned space consists
of large rooms or various zones. The
heat pump system uses one central
controller to run all indoor units,
or individual controllers for each
indoor unit, having EHP or GHP types.

¢º Operation Principle
Except for the gas engine and heat exchangers
(to recover heat from exhaust gas), there
is little difference with an Electric Heat
Pump.
As you can see in the picture above, in order
to conduct cooling operations, the gas engine
driven compressor pressurizes and heats the
refrigerant. And then, the refrigerant loses
its heat at the heat exchanger through condensation.
When liquid refrigerant passes through the
expansion valve, its temperature and pressure
decrease. At the indoor heat exchanger, the
refrigerant absorbs heat from the air, cooling
it. As for heating, the four-way valve reverses
the cooling cycle.
When passed through the expansion valve, the
pressure and temperature of the condensed
coolant rise. At the outdoor heat exchanger,
the refrigerant vaporizes by absorbing heat
from the outdoor air.
